Marjorie Taylor Greene Declares Republican Party Must Be Reduced to Ashes
“The Republican Party needs to burn to the ground,” declared Marjorie Taylor Greene during a recent appearance on Alex Jones' podcast, InfoWars. The former congresswoman, who once stood firmly in the MAGA camp, now argues that the party's current trajectory is unsustainable, particularly due to what she perceives as excessive loyalty to Israel among lawmakers.
Greene's comments come amid her growing disillusionment with Trump, whom she describes as a “cult” leader. She expressed concerns that the party cannot thrive under his influence, especially with members she claims are “controlled by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.”
“We have to be realistic about the Republican Party,” Greene continued, emphasizing her belief that a complete reset is necessary. Her criticism extends beyond party politics; she has accused Trump of neglecting American interests in favor of foreign conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
“You can cheer for America without being in a cult,” Greene asserted, reflecting on the fervent loyalty many still exhibit towards Trump. She pointed out that this loyalty has been cultivated through a narrative perpetuated by media outlets like Fox News, which she claims misleads viewers, particularly older generations.
Once a staunch supporter of Trump, Greene's relationship with him has soured significantly since their fallout earlier this year. This rift followed her push for the release of Epstein files, which Trump publicly condemned. Greene has since labeled him as mentally unstable, particularly after his controversial remarks regarding Iran.
“This is not the same man that we supported,” Greene insisted, highlighting her belief that Trump's recent actions diverge from the principles he once championed.
Other former allies of Trump, including Jones and political commentator Candace Owens, have echoed Greene's sentiments, distancing themselves from the former president and his military decisions.
Greene envisions a reformed Republican Party that eschews financial backing from AIPAC and similar organizations. She clarified that her criticisms are not antisemitic but rather directed at the Israeli government itself. However, her history of controversial remarks raises questions about her stance.
On social media platform X, Greene reiterated her call for a new political coalition, stating, “We need a strong populist coalition of the right and left.” She expressed a willingness to collaborate across party lines for the benefit of future generations.
“For the sake of my children’s generation, I’m willing to come together, go to the whiteboard, and begin to try to sketch something new,” Greene concluded, signaling her commitment to reshaping the political landscape.
