The investigation, led by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, has been relentless, digging into additional offenses reported to both Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary.
The latest charges involve four more alleged victims, pushing the total number of victims in this sordid saga to seven. The alleged crimes took place over a span from July 2010 to August 2017.
Andrew Tate, aged 39, is now hit with seven new counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and a staggering 19 additional charges related to indecent images of a child and other offenses.
Tristan Tate, aged 38, faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
With these new allegations stacked on top of previous charges, the Tate brothers now confront a total of 59 charges - 42 against Andrew and 17 against Tristan.
In the wake of their arrest, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed plans to extradite both brothers to face not only the original 21 charges but also the newly authorized ones.
Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, stated that these charging decisions followed the receipt of further evidence from Bedfordshire Police, bringing the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven. He emphasized that criminal proceedings are active and that these defendants retain the right to a fair trial.
