Two teenage girls were reportedly sexually assaulted in Nottingham city center, triggering an urgent police investigation. The incidents occurred around 11 PM on Thursday, June 4, in the Old Market Square area.

Nottinghamshire Police established a cordon in Norfolk Place as they began their inquiries. The victims are now receiving support from specialist officers while detectives work to gather more information about the assaults.

Detective Inspector Beth Sheard from the Public Protection unit has made a public appeal for witnesses. She emphasized the seriousness of the situation and reassured the victims and the community that every effort is being made to investigate these reports thoroughly.

She stated, "We know that these incidents are very concerning and I would like to reassure the victims and the wider public that we are doing everything we can to investigate these reports."

The police confirmed that they have launched an investigation following the reports of the assaults. The incidents are believed to have taken place at approximately 11 PM on June 4, with a cordon still in place in Norfolk Place as investigations continue.
