Texas Teacher Gets 33 Years for Sexually Abusing 13-Year-Old Student
A former Texas middle school teacher received a staggering 33-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexually abusing a 13-year-old student.
Adriana Rullan, aged 30, faced a Webb County jury that found her guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14. The jury also handed down additional sentences: 10 years for indecency with a child through sexual contact and 13 years for an improper relationship between an educator and a student.
All sentences will run concurrently, and Rullan must pay $20,000 in fines.

The verdict came after a two-day trial in the 341st District Court, where prosecutors showcased testimony from six witnesses alongside numerous exhibits, including text messages, photographs, and video recordings.
During sentencing, the victim recounted how the abuse shattered his friendships, eroded his self-worth, and nearly cost him his life.
The victim's mother addressed the jury, holding Rullan accountable for her son's depression and anxiety, detailing the emotional devastation inflicted on their family.

She described Rullan as manipulative and insisted that she should never be allowed near another child.
The jury reached its guilty verdicts in under two hours, according to the Webb County District Attorney's Office.
The investigation kicked off on November 27, 2023, when the victim's parents alerted the United Independent School District Police Department about allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student at Gonzalez Middle School in Laredo.

A forensic examination of the victim's cellphone uncovered electronic communications that documented the relationship, providing crucial evidence for the charges.
Rullan was arrested the following month and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
It remains unclear if Rullan plans to appeal the conviction.
Fox News Digital sought additional comments from the Webb County District Attorney's Office and the United Independent School District but did not receive immediate responses.
