‘This Is Madness’: MAGA Pastor Faces Backlash After 'Sacrilegious' Trump Remarks
Paula White-Cain, a prominent figure in the White House Faith Office, sparked outrage on social media after making an audacious comparison between President Donald Trump and Jesus Christ during a speech on Wednesday.
“Jesus taught so many lessons through his death, burial, and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice,” she stated, with Trump present. “And, Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life.”
In a controversial move just days before Easter, White-Cain attempted to draw a direct connection between Christ and Trump, who has faced legal issues related to sexual abuse and has a history of associations with individuals like the late Jeffrey Epstein.
“You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us,” she remarked. “But it didn’t end there for him, and it didn’t end there for you.”
Her comments drew comparisons to a “Saturday Night Live” skit where Trump interrupts the Last Supper to make a similar claim.
White-Cain further labeled Trump as “the greatest champion of faith that we’ve ever seen in a president,” asserting—incorrectly—that religious freedoms were curtailed prior to his administration.
“I remember when we told our first briefing, ‘You can now pray again and worship again,’” she recalled. “They began to shout and praise and say ‘Thank you, Lord.’”
She concluded by claiming that due to Jesus’ “victory,” Trump would also achieve “victory in all you put your hands to.”
This rhetoric proved too much for many users on X, who expressed their disbelief and disapproval.
