Tom Holland Slams Spurs Support: 'Worst Decision Ever'!

Jul 29 2026

Tom Holland, the Spider-Man star, just dropped a bombshell about his allegiance to Tottenham Hotspur, calling it "one of the worst decisions I've ever made." This admission comes as a shocker from the actor who’s back on screens in Brand New Day.

Holland's fandom for Spurs seems more like a curse than a blessing. He confessed on the Dish from Waitrose podcast that he accidentally fell into supporting the team as a child, simply because his family noticed how poorly they were performing. "I was always more into rugby," he stated, revealing his initial disinterest in football.

His brother Harry was the first to choose a club, and instead of opting for one of the top teams like Chelsea or Arsenal, he decided against being a "glory hunter." When Harry's brother Sam chose to support Tottenham, Harry warned him against it due to the team's struggles. Ultimately, Holland felt compelled to join in and support Spurs, leading him to regret that choice profoundly.

During the Champions League final, Holland shocked fans by admitting he supported Arsenal instead of his own team. "I watched it with my brother, and I’ll get crucified for saying this as a Tottenham fan," he said, highlighting the internal conflict of being a Spurs supporter.

Despite his struggles with football fandom, Holland has found joy in his role as Spider-Man. He expressed no intention of stepping away from the character anytime soon. "It’s honestly like, it’s such a pleasure [playing Spider-Man]," he said, emphasizing his commitment to the role.

Brand New Day marks Holland's fourth solo outing as the web-slinger. He described the experience as rewarding, stating he had more responsibility this time around. He collaborated closely with writers and directors, aiming to capture what fans wanted from the film.

Holland feels proud of the new movie, calling it "super fun" and "the most emotional version" of any Spider-Man film made to date. His dedication to both his craft and the character shines through as he continues to navigate the highs and lows of fandom—both in football and film.

"I felt like when I was in the room with the writers, I was like the representative of the fans," he said, showcasing his commitment to delivering what audiences crave.
