Tom Holland, the Spider-Man star, couldn't handle the heat and ended up vomiting during the infamous Hot Ones challenge.
In a recent episode of the YouTube series, celebrities tackle ten progressively spicier chicken wings while being interviewed. Holland, a London native, faced the fiery ordeal head-on but ultimately succumbed to the spice.
He recounted the experience, stating, "I did Hot Ones the other day. It was horrendous." The actor claimed he might be the first guest to throw up during the interview, attributing it to an excessive amount of milk consumed in an attempt to cool down the heat.
Holland described his regurgitation as reminiscent of a baby, saying, "You know when a baby just has like pure milk that comes out? It was literally like that. Horrendous." He embraced the embarrassing moment, requesting producers to keep it in the final cut and even suggested it be used as the thumbnail.
This wasn't Holland's first encounter with the fiery wings. He admitted, "I've done it twice now, and last time I did it, I was like, 'I'm never doing that again.' And then I did it again, and I'm never doing that again." The actor clearly underestimated the challenge's intensity.
His favorite part of the experience was sharing it with co-star Jon Bernthal, known for his role as Punisher in Marvel films. Holland expressed his admiration for Bernthal, stating, "He's a very good friend of mine. Absolutely love him to bits." Bernthal had just completed a demanding three-hour Broadway show before joining Holland for the spicy challenge.
Holland noted the difficulty of performing after consuming spicy food, saying, "Imagine standing on stage in front of thousands of people." He revealed they were texting during Bernthal's performance, and it was clear that Bernthal was feeling the effects of the wings. "The audience would have been like, wow, this is so intense. Sweating like you can't believe," Holland added.
Bernthal was left trying to manage his discomfort while performing live. "He's really just trying to not s*** himself," Holland quipped.
