Trump Claims He Alone Prevents Global Chaos Amid Controversy
“If I weren’t president, the world would be torn to pieces,” declared President Donald Trump during an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, positioning himself as the linchpin of global stability. This statement follows a wave of criticism after he shared an AI-generated image depicting himself in a Christ-like manner.
As his administration seeks to broker a peace agreement with Iran amid a two-week ceasefire, Trump remains optimistic despite recent setbacks in negotiations. “I think you’re going to be watching an amazing two days ahead,” he asserted, hinting at potential breakthroughs even after talks faltered in Pakistan over the weekend.
When pressed on whether the conflict would conclude with a formal deal or merely maintain the current situation, Trump acknowledged, “it could go either way.” However, he expressed a preference for a resolution that would allow for reconstruction in Iran, emphasizing the change in regime and the removal of radical elements.

The ongoing war, initiated by the U.S. and Israel in late February, has resulted in significant casualties and displacement across the Middle East. According to Iranian officials, over 3,000 lives have been lost, while the United Nations reports millions displaced. The Pentagon confirmed the deaths of thirteen U.S. service members amidst rising tensions.
Concerns about global economic stability are mounting as both Iran and the U.S. impose blockades on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for oil transport. Oil prices surged past $100 a barrel this weekend, with gas prices exceeding $4 per gallon in the U.S., prompting widespread alarm.
Public sentiment appears to lean against the conflict; a Pew Research Center survey indicated that approximately 61 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s management of the war.

In a separate interview aired on Fox News, Trump claimed that the war is “close to over,” suggesting that the opposing forces may not endure much longer. His comments about being the sole protector against chaos coincided with backlash over his controversial self-portrait.
The image, which shows Trump in robes healing a sick man, sparked outrage across political lines. Critics labeled it blasphemous and egomaniacal, with former Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene condemning it as an affront to religious sentiments.
Senator Bernie Sanders characterized Trump’s behavior as “deranged,” reflecting widespread disapproval. By Monday morning, Trump had removed the post from his Truth Social account but defended it later, claiming it was intended as a lighthearted portrayal of himself as a healer.

“I viewed that as a picture of me being a doctor,” he explained to reporters outside the White House. “You know, as a little fun playing the doctor and making people better.” He attributed the ensuing controversy to “fake news” misinterpretations.
