Trump Clan and Their Empire Get Tax Audit Immunity in $1.7B Deal

May 21 2026

In a jaw-dropping move, President Trump, his family, and their sprawling business empire have been granted immunity from all pending tax audits, thanks to a newly inked deal with the Department of Justice.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche put pen to paper on this eyebrow-raising provision Tuesday, following the controversial $1.7 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund agreement that stirred up a hornet's nest among Republican critics just a day prior.

The settlement explicitly states that the IRS is “FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED from prosecuting or pursuing” any ongoing tax claims against the Trump family and their enterprises. Talk about a golden ticket!

But wait, there’s more! This deal also opens the floodgates for “victims of lawfare,” including none other than Hunter Biden, to cash in on payouts. A DOJ official clarified that this provision only applies to “existing audits, not future” ones, leaving the door ajar for future scrutiny.

“As is customary in settlements, both sides have executed waivers of a variety of claims that were or could have been brought,” the official explained, adding a layer of legalese to this already complex situation.

In a twist of irony, while Trump and his sons Don Jr. and Eric won’t see a dime in monetary compensation, they will receive a formal apology from the federal government. Yes, you read that right—an apology!

In exchange for this sweet deal, the Trumps will drop their claims related to the FBI’s investigation into Russian collusion during the 2016 campaign and the infamous Mar-a-Lago search warrant executed in August 2022.

Earlier this year, the Trump trio filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS for allegedly leaking their tax returns, a scandal that erupted after ex-IRS contractor Charles “Chaz” Littlejohn admitted to sharing sensitive information with major media outlets.

Blanche acknowledged the unusual nature of this agreement but insisted it’s “not unprecedented.”

Five commissioners appointed by Blanche will be tasked with distributing taxpayer funds to those claiming they were victims of “lawfare” and politically motivated prosecutions—an issue Trump officials argue has been rampant under Biden’s watch. Interestingly, Hunter Biden is also on the eligibility list.

Whether Trump will have any influence over who gets to oversee this fund remains shrouded in mystery.
