Trump Clashes with Fox News' Jessica Tarlov Over Polling Disputes
In a fiery exchange, President Trump confronted Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov after she referenced polling data indicating a drop in his approval ratings. Tarlov stood her ground, asserting, "Trump really is that unpopular," during a segment on The Five.
Tarlov highlighted that the president's approval rating hovers around 35 percent in various polls, attributing this decline to widespread discontent with his policies, including tariffs and the ongoing conflict in Iran. Supporting her claims, a recent The Economist/YouGov poll revealed a 38 percent approval rate alongside a 56 percent disapproval rate.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump lashed out at Tarlov, labeling her "one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television" and accusing her of distorting data. He insisted, "She makes up 'Poll Numbers,'" while claiming he enjoys "among the best Poll Numbers I have ever had."
In response, Tarlov utilized X to counter Trump's assertions, stating, "Guess I'll take this opportunity to mention that my numbers are far from fake — Trump really is that unpopular." She also seized the moment to promote her forthcoming book.
Trump's tirade didn't stop with Tarlov; he also targeted Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, and Tucker Carlson, alleging without evidence that their viewership was dwindling and branding them as "FAKE MAGA." His posts continued to attack conservative figures.
Owens, who has recently distanced herself from Trump over his administration's approach to the Iran war, weighed in on the Tarlov controversy, describing Trump's remarks as a "meltdown" and suggesting he might have "accidentally heard the truth?"
As noted by various sources, Trump has a history of targeting journalists, particularly women, often resorting to derogatory remarks. In November, he infamously told Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey to "quiet, piggy" after she inquired about government files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This latest public spat underscores the ongoing tensions within conservative media circles and highlights the challenges Trump faces as he navigates his approval ratings amidst a turbulent political landscape.
