Trump Launches Scathing Attack on Supreme Court Over Birthright Citizenship 'Scam'

Apr 06 2026

President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of criticism against the U.S. Supreme Court regarding its deliberations on birthright citizenship, dismissing the matter as a “money making hoax.”

In a post on Truth Social late on Easter Sunday, he expressed his discontent: “It’s too bad that the Supreme Court can’t watch and study the Mark Levin Show tonight on the Birthright Citizenship Scam.”

Trump continued, “If they saw it they would never allow that money making HOAX to continue. THEY SHOULD USE THEIR POWERS OF COMMON SENSE FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY.”

His frustration extended to the court's previous decisions, particularly regarding tariffs, which he claimed cost the U.S. “Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in potential rebates for the benefit haters and scammers.” He warned, “The Country can only withstand so many bad decisions from a Court that just doesn’t seem to care.”

The Supreme Court currently holds a six-three conservative majority, with Trump having appointed three justices. Despite this, his dissatisfaction with their rulings has grown.

Earlier this year, he criticized the justices for their decision against his global tariffs program, stating at a press conference: “I’m ashamed of certain members of the court. Absolutely ashamed for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country… It’s an embarrassment to their families, to one another.”

Last week, Trump broke with tradition by attending a court hearing alongside Attorney General Pam Bondi—whom he had dismissed en route—where Solicitor General D John Sauer attempted to convince the justices to challenge protections under the 14th Amendment, a proposal met with skepticism.

On the show referenced by Trump, Life, Liberty and Levin, the host argued against birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, aligning with Trump's perspective.

Levin has been a staunch supporter of Trump’s policies, including his approach to Iran. Recently, Trump defended Levin during a heated exchange with fellow conservative commentator Megyn Kelly over airstrikes.

Earlier that day, Trump shared a Fox News clip featuring anchor Will Cain, who claimed that 320,000 babies were born to unauthorized or temporarily legal migrant mothers in 2023. Cain asserted this represented 9 percent of all births in the U.S. and criticized Chief Justice John Roberts for rejecting the administration's stance by stating: “It’s a new world, but it’s the same Constitution.”

Additionally, Trump amplified another user’s post that included a video of Muslim shoppers in Minnesota, accompanied by an unverified claim that “85 percent of these people are on welfare.”

This outburst followed Trump’s aggressive warning to Iran, threatening severe consequences if they did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz before his deadline. “Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell,” he declared.

Reactions to Trump's comments included criticism from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Virginia Democratic Senator Tim Kaine, and former Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Greene remarked on X (Twitter), “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness.” She added, “I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.”
