Trump's 'Big Yawn' Rant Sparks Fury Among Fox News Viewers

Donald Trump, the 80-year-old President, unleashed a tirade against a housing bill, triggering outrage from conservatives online.

On June 29, Fox News cut its regular programming to broadcast Trump live as he wavered on signing the Housing Affordability Bill while pushing the SAVE America Act. He appeared indifferent to the bill's potential to reduce regulatory barriers, enhance home construction, and modernize federal housing programs.

During the press briefing, Trump declared, "Just about everything is a big yawn." This statement came as he reiterated his commitment to ending birthright citizenship, despite a setback in the Supreme Court.

Trump continued, "Here's what I would like to say. Much more than a bill. Big deal! It's a yawn!"

He added, "Some people say, 'It's wonderful!' To me, compared to the Save America Act, just about everything is a big yawn," showcasing his dismissive attitude toward the legislation.

Viewers reacted swiftly on social media, branding Trump as unpresidential and immature.

One critic remarked, "What — like letting people buy houses? Yeah, 'big yawn.' What a despicable person you are."

Another user fumed, "What kind of childish piece of s--t holds legislation that will lower prices for Americans because he doesn’t like the fact they’re not passing his stupid bill. Oh, that’s right! Donald Trump! I forgot who I was talking about!"

A third commenter quipped, "Speaking of big yawns? How's that state fair going for ya?"

Despite the backlash, one supporter defended Trump, stating, "God bless the president! Always making the right decisions!"

House Speaker Mike Johnson personally delivered the housing bill to Trump's desk on June 29.

Trump's remarks followed Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's praise for the measure as a significant advancement in housing affordability.

Leavitt stated, “Tomorrow at 12 PM on Capitol Hill, President Trump will sign into law the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act," calling it "one of the most significant pieces of housing affordability legislation in American history."

She highlighted that the bipartisan bill includes policies long supported by Trump, aimed at cutting unnecessary red tape, increasing housing supply, and restricting large institutional investors from buying single-family homes.

Leavitt emphasized, “As the President has said, homes should be owned by American families, not large corporations. President Trump promised to lower housing costs, and he is delivering, making it easier for every family to achieve the American Dream of homeownership. Tomorrow’s historic bill signing is another promise made, promise kept.”

Trump's SAVE America Act has faced significant public pushback due to its requirement for American citizens to provide proof of citizenship to vote and present valid ID at polling places.
