Trump's Bruised Hand Sparks Health Concerns Amid FIFA Event

The president's right hand, battered and bruised, was on full display during a FIFA event, igniting fresh health concerns for the U.S. leader.

Journalist Aaron Rupar noted the alarming state of Trump's hand while he engaged with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, stating, “The FIFA Peace Prize winner is taking part in a ceremony with Gianni -- and that right hand of his is looking pretty rough.”

Trump, who is 80 years old, discussed football as the World Cup nears its conclusion. However, the makeup covering his hand was hard to miss, a common sight meant to mask the visible bruising.

Comments flooded in, with one observer questioning, “How long until Trump starts wearing gloves every time he is in public?” Another added, “It is really swollen.”

During the event, Trump made odd remarks regarding a controversial red card issued to the U.S. team. He recounted, “You had unforgettable moments. Probably the most unforgettable is when they gave a gentleman — is it a red card? And I was forced to call Gianni and just make a recommendation… I said I’d like to wage a complaint,” claiming it worked out better without controversy.

Just a day prior, Trump appeared with makeup on his hand during a speech at the White House, where he railed against “rigged elections” without providing any evidence.

The White House attributes the bruising on Trump's right hand to frequent handshaking, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and his high aspirin intake. He takes 325 milligrams daily, exceeding recommended dosages for the past 25 years to thin his blood, despite medical advice suggesting a lower dose.

In January, Trump stated, “They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart. I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”

He mentioned it takes him “about 10 seconds” to apply makeup on his hand to conceal the bruising, although it often remains quite visible.

White House press secretary Kaoline Leavitt previously explained that Trump's hand bruising results from "tissue damage from frequent handshaking."

Due to his condition, Trump attempted to use compression socks for mild swelling in his lower legs and ankles but abandoned them because he found them uncomfortable. He now avoids sitting for extended periods.
