Trump's Disgusting Bathroom Habits Could Invite Mold Infestation to the White House
U.S. President Donald Trump faces shocking allegations regarding his bathroom habits, with claims that he prefers carpeting in the bathroom, a choice that could foster mold growth.
The forthcoming novel, "Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump," authored by New York Times White House correspondents Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, exposes these unsanitary preferences. An excerpt obtained by The Daily Mail reveals several troubling habits of the 80-year-old president.
These revelations emerge as Trump, the oldest president in U.S. history, grapples with increasing scrutiny over his physical and cognitive health. This comes at a sensitive time for the American public, especially following the political downfall of former President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential race due to health concerns, clearing a path for Trump’s potential return to office in January 2025.

According to Haberman and Swan, “The portion nearest the shower would often be soaked through; the staff was never quite sure why, but they worried about mold growing underneath.” They further detail that “the solution was to lay a small piece of the same carpet—never an actual bath mat—over the larger one.”
They also note that “several of these pieces were kept in rotation, swapped out and dried.”
Mold thrives in damp environments, particularly on textiles like carpet and fabric. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that mold can develop within 24 hours if moisture is trapped in fiber padding.

Exposure to damp and moldy environments can lead to various health effects, ranging from mild allergy symptoms such as stuffy nose and sore throat to severe reactions like fever or shortness of breath, especially for those with asthma or mold allergies.
The book also claims that Trump’s bedroom is a constant mess, raising concerns among White House staff about his health and well-being. He is described as a late-night snacker who leaves trash strewn about his room.
“A nighttime snacker, the President would frequently leave an array of empty potato chip bags, Starbucks wrappers, and ice cream cartons in the trash, or on the floor,” Haberman and Swan report.
