Trump Unleashes Fury Over Iran Deal Collapse Amid Juneteenth Rant

Jun 19 2026

Donald Trump unleashed a tirade on social media, fuming over the backlash to his Iran deal as it hangs by a thread just 24 hours post-signing.

"The War has diminished Iran! It doesn't, any longer, have an Air Force, a Navy, Antiaircraft Equipment, Radar, or practically anything else, and yet the Dumocrats say that Iran is better off now than it was four months ago," he raged on Truth Social. "Can you imagine getting away with that? How stupid can some people be? President DJT," he added.

In a follow-up message, Trump declared, "We didn't meet out of desperation, Iran did. They are FINISHED! We'll play out the 60 days. They get no money, not ten cents!" This outburst coincides with reports that Iran has halted its 60-day negotiation process, claiming the U.S. breached the agreement after Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

Critics argue that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) grants Iran significant immediate benefits while extracting minimal concessions. Back in March, Trump proclaimed, "There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER."

However, the MOU's contents revealed on Wednesday bore little resemblance to a surrender agreement. The interim deal allows negotiators 60 days to craft a nuclear agreement, with an option for extension.

The document outlines substantial incentives for Iran if a new agreement is reached, including the potential removal of all international sanctions and a $300 billion fund earmarked for postwar reconstruction.

Iran has already gained several concessions. Following the signing of the interim deal, the U.S. lifted its blockade of Iranian ports and allowed the nation to sell its oil freely.

The agreement also stipulates the unfreezing of Iran's assets, though the timeline for this remains unclear.

Signed by Trump during his visit to France and later by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the document appears to offer sweeping concessions that exceed those in Iran's 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers.

Trump previously withdrew America from that Obama-era accord, labeling it the "worst deal ever."

The deal faces severe criticism and has already encountered major obstacles. U.S.-Iran talks were abandoned on Friday amid escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, confirmed by three officials.

Iranian officials failed to arrive in Switzerland as scheduled, insisting that hostilities in Lebanon cease before negotiations could resume, according to anonymous sources discussing ongoing mediation efforts. Vice President JD Vance also canceled his planned trip.
