Iran's Supreme Leader Slams Trump: Desperation Deal Exposed

Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei blasted Donald Trump, claiming the deal with Tehran emerged from sheer “desperation.” This shocking admission comes as Khamenei confirmed his approval of a long-awaited agreement.

Despite differing views, Khamenei greenlit the deal after receiving assurances from president Masoud Pezeshkian and senior officials that Iran's rights and the interests of the "Resistance Front" would be protected.

Since being injured in US-Israeli attacks on 28 February, Khamenei has remained out of public view. He emphasized that future negotiations with the United States would not equate to accepting "the enemy's position."

The US military announced it lifted its blockade on Iranian ports near the Strait of Hormuz, allowing millions of barrels to flow through this critical waterway once again.

Centcom stated that the navy will “remain in the general area” to ensure compliance with the agreement, which is now “adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect.”

Vice President JD Vance reported that 12.5 million barrels of oil passed through the strait overnight, with Iranian forces refraining from firing on any vessels.

US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer criticized Trump's interim deal with Iran, declaring, “This is not the art of the deal. This is the art of surrender.”

The US-Iran agreement includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran, and a commitment from Iranian officials not to pursue nuclear weapons.

As part of this interim peace deal signed Wednesday, the Strait of Hormuz is set to reopen.

Reports indicate at least seven ships transited the strait on Thursday, according to Marine Traffic data.

However, by Thursday night, zero ships were reported traveling through the strait, as per the Hormuz Strait Monitor.

Britain's international development minister Jenny Chapman urged Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon to allow families displaced by three months of conflict to return home.

Chapman stated, "Israel should withdraw from southern Lebanon, absolutely. Displacement we know anywhere in the world causes huge disruption," during her visit to a school sheltering displaced families.

Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned of a “crushing response” if the US acts in “bad faith” during negotiations.

Ghalibaf asserted, “We are at your command; the task assigned to us by the Supreme Leader is to pursue the realization of the conditions and clauses of the agreement.”

He added, “In the event of bad faith, breach of contract, and excessive demands by the opposing side, we have no hesitation in delivering a crushing response to the enemy.”

Ghalibaf threatened that if the US chooses confrontation again, they will face an even harsher retaliation than before.

The maritime security threat in the Strait of Hormuz has been downgraded to “moderate” following the interim US-Iran peace deal, according to UK officials.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported that while the threat level has decreased, mariners should remain cautious due to existing mines and ongoing naval presence for clearance operations.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced plans for fast authorizations for ships wishing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

This initiative aligns with a memorandum of understanding signed by Tehran and Washington.

Mine clearance operations will proceed under the Islamabad MoU, with ships advised to adhere to designated paths and timings set by Iranian authorities.
