Trump's Elvis Facade Sparks Two Bold Demands from Newsom

Mar 24 2026

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s team took aim at Donald Trump on Monday, reacting to a peculiar image shared by Trump’s allies that depicted the former president as Elvis Presley.

The Trump War Room account posted the image shortly after Trump’s visit to Graceland, the legendary home of the rock icon, showcasing him in one of Presley’s signature jumpsuits.

Newsom’s press office was quick to dismiss the portrayal.

“Please just lower gas prices and release the files,” they stated, cutting through the spectacle with pointed demands.

For those curious, the image and the response can be found on X.

Trump has long maintained, albeit with some skepticism, that he bears a resemblance to the King of Rock ’n’ Roll.

During a rally in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 2018, he remarked: “When I was growing up, they said I look like Elvis.”

In 2024, he reiterated this claim, posting a split image of himself alongside Presley on his Truth Social platform, asking: “For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike. Now, this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?”

The juxtaposition of Trump and Presley continues to stir conversation, but it remains to be seen if it will influence public opinion or policy decisions.

As the political landscape evolves, such visual representations may serve as more than mere entertainment; they could reflect deeper narratives within the ongoing electoral discourse.
