Trump's Iran Deal Claims Exposed in Brutal CNN Montage

Jul 10 2026

Donald Trump faced a brutal takedown as CNN aired a montage highlighting his numerous claims that Iran desperately wanted to negotiate a deal to end the conflict.

During a broadcast, CNN anchor Kasie Hunt dissected Trump's assertion that Iranian leaders had "called a little while ago" expressing their eagerness to strike a deal. This claim came just after the U.S. bombed Iran following Iranian attacks on U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Trump, speaking to reporters, insisted, "We have many ways we can win, but we’ve already won militarily," despite Iran maintaining control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. He further claimed Iran had "very little left."

The 80-year-old president reiterated, "They want to make a deal so badly. They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly. I just don’t know if they’re worthy of making a deal. I don’t know that they’re going to honor the deal. That’s the problem."

In response, CNN compiled a montage of Trump's past statements about Iran's desire for a deal, starting from March 23 when he first claimed, "They want to make a deal."

The very next day, he reiterated, "And they want a deal so badly." On March 25, he echoed this sentiment again, stating, "They want to make a deal so badly." While aboard Air Force One on March 29, he expressed optimism, saying, "I do see a deal in Iran."

On April 16, Trump told reporters, "It’s looking very good that we’re going to make a deal," and the following day he claimed, "This process should go very quickly."

By May 19, he declared, "We’re going to end that war very quickly," and on June 9, he stated, "We’re in the final throes of what will be a very, very good deal."

Just two days later, he claimed, "And they wanna make the deal a lot more than I do." On June 16, he announced, "We have our deal done with Iran, and it should be successful."

However, on June 23, he backtracked slightly, saying, "We’re, uh… making an amazing deal with Iran." Further backtracking occurred on June 25 when he stated, "They want to make a deal with us very badly."

The next day, he added, "They’re dying to make a deal. They’re giving us a lot." On July 8, he reiterated his claim that "They wanna make a deal so badly."

A clip of the montage circulated on social media with the caption highlighting Trump's repeated assertions about Iran's eagerness for negotiations. Viewers quickly mocked the president.

"The only person who wants to make a deal so badly is Donald Trump," one user quipped. Another questioned, "Why would anyone want to make a deal with him? How do you stand to be in the same room as him?"

One user shared an AI-generated image of Trump alongside Jack Nicholson's character from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and sarcastically remarked, "Trump has ended the Iran war 38 times. It will be 39 times soon. With the other 8 wars he claims to have ended that’s 47 times he’s ended wars. He should give himself a presidential medal for such an outstanding achievement. Give the man a medal."

Another user vented frustration: "If he would keep his mouth shut he wouldn’t look so stupid. Every time he talks, he contradicts his own previous claims, undermines his negotiators, and hands Iran an easy way to dismiss him."

Critics were relentless; one viewer labeled him a "serial liar," while another called him an "imbecile," expressing disbelief that people fail to recognize it.
