Trump's Silence Speaks Volumes as USA Dominates World Cup
Donald Trump has chosen to remain mute on the United States' impressive World Cup performance, opting instead to unleash criticism on the Democratic party. Despite reaching out to USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino at the tournament's start to extend his well wishes, Trump has not acknowledged the team's victories.
The USMNT has secured wins against Paraguay and Australia, with a decisive 2-0 victory over the Socceroos solidifying their position at the top of Group D. This outcome leaves them with no stakes in their final group match against Turkey, allowing Pochettino to rest key players and manage squad fitness effectively.

Trump's social media activity remains high, as he frequently comments on various sporting events, including his attendance at the NBA Finals matchup between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. Yet, he has not directed any attention toward the soccer team's achievements.
Before the tournament kicked off, Trump praised Pochettino, stating, "Well, I just got to say you’re a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach." He expressed confidence in the team's potential, saying, "I think you’ve got a really good chance of going all the way. I just want to wish you a lot of luck."

Pochettino responded with gratitude, assuring Trump, "Thank you so much for your support, Mr. President. We are going to do everything to make proud you and all the people here in this country."
Last year, Trump frustrated soccer fans by remaining on stage while Chelsea accepted the Club World Cup trophy at MetLife Stadium. His anticipated attendance at the World Cup final on July 19 raises questions about whether he will repeat that controversial behavior.

The USMNT aims to advance as far as possible in the tournament, having scored six goals while conceding only one in their matches against Paraguay and Australia. The upcoming fixtures promise to be more challenging, with Turkey viewed as a tough opponent.
With their group stage victory secured, the USA is set to face a third-place team in the knockout round. Their initial playoff matchup is against Bosnia-Herzegovina. A win there would likely lead them to a Round of 16 clash with Belgium, a contest where they would enter as underdogs.
