Trump's Towering Blunder: Claims Reflecting Pool Taller Than Skyscrapers
During a live broadcast, US President Donald Trump claimed a newly renovated swimming pool is "taller than skyscrapers," leaving audiences in disbelief.
In an Oval Office meeting, the commander-in-chief declared the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool "taller than any building in the world, actually." He insisted, "There's no building that's 2500ft tall, I don't think. But it's twice as tall as the Empire State Building, and much wider."
The multi-million-dollar restoration of the Reflecting Pool wrapped up last week, with the pool refilled by Sunday, just in time for America's 250th birthday on July 4.
Social media erupted with reactions. One user remarked, "Time to schedule another cognitive test." Another pointed out, "The height of the reflection pool is 30 inches in the center." A third quipped, "Trump: 'It's taller than any building in the world.' The reflecting pool: 'Sir, I'm literally a puddle.'
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, constructed in the 1920s, is the largest of Washington, DC's reflecting pools. It measures 2,030 by 167 feet and features a concrete bottom.
Last year, Trump claimed he was in excellent mental and physical condition after completing a "perfect physical exam" and a comprehensive cognitive assessment.
On Truth Social, he stated, "There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST ('That was aced') JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now! GOD BLESS AMERICA & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
In the past year, Trump has faced accusations of rambling during public addresses. Earlier this month, he sparked fresh health concerns by repeating a bizarre post about Iran surrendering for the third time in weeks.
In that post, Trump raged about Iran's military admitting defeat while criticizing media coverage and attacking Democrats. He wrote on Truth Social: "If Iran surrenders, admits their Navy is gone and resting at the bottom of the sea... and if their entire Military walks out of Tehran... each shouting 'I surrender, I surrender' while wildly waving the representative White Flag..."
He continued his tirade against media outlets: "The Failing New York Times, The China Street Journal (WSJ!), Corrupt and now Irrelevant CNN... will headline that Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over The United States of America."
Trump has already posted this rant verbatim twice before. The first instance occurred on May 18 at 10:40 am, followed by another on May 26 at 3:32 pm. This repetition raises concerns about potential cognitive decline.
