Trump Unleashes Fury on Italy’s PM Meloni Amid G7 Chaos
President Donald Trump unleashed a tirade against Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, accusing her of abandoning U.S. military interests after he launched a unilateral offensive against Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump, without naming her directly, stated: “After spending Trillions of Dollars on NATO, Italy, and its Prime Minister, wouldn’t even think of becoming involved with the Islamic Republic of Iran and their very serious Nuclear Threat. For decades, we defend them but, when tested, they are not there to defend us, and the rest of the World. Not good!”
The feud ignited at the G7 summit last week, fueled by Trump's history of clashes with global leaders, many of whom are supposed allies.
Trump previously claimed Meloni practically begged for a photo opportunity with him during the summit. “She begged me to take a picture with her. She wanted a picture with me so badly. I wouldn’t have taken it, but I felt sorry for her,” he asserted, reiterating his point.

Meloni reportedly confronted Trump over his stance on the Iran conflict during their meeting, accusing him of showing more respect to adversaries than to allies. She dismissed his claims as “completely made up.”
Trump insinuated that Meloni was seeking his approval due to her “falling numbers.”
In response, she retorted on Saturday, “My popularity is none of your concern. I suggest you focus on yours.”
Following the escalating tensions, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani canceled a planned visit to the U.S., labeling Trump’s accusations as “serious and offensive.”
