Tucker Carlson Declares War on the Republican Party: “I’m Out!”

Jun 24 2026

Tucker Carlson, a longtime conservative commentator, has dropped a political bombshell, declaring, “there’s no chance I would support the Republican Party” as the November midterm elections loom. This statement comes from a figure who has been a vocal defender of the party for decades, including his tenure as one of Fox News Channel’s most prominent hosts.

In a recent episode of “Can’t Be Censored,” Carlson made it clear he won’t back the Democratic Party either, stating, “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” His disillusionment with the Republican Party has intensified, particularly following President Donald Trump’s controversial military actions against Iran.

Since his firing from Fox News in 2023, Carlson has built a substantial following on his own podcast. His support for Trump in 2024 has since turned sour; he publicly apologized for backing the candidate after the war began, admitting he “misled people” without intent.

Carlson has been vocal in his criticism of the war, claiming it serves foreign interests over American citizens. He accused the Republican Party of prioritizing “what’s best for this company, what’s best for Israel, what’s best for our donors,” labeling this behavior as “unacceptable,” “treasonous,” and “immoral.”

For 35 years, Carlson has been a steadfast defender of the Republican Party. Now he states, “there’s no defending this,” signaling a potential mass exodus from the party alongside his own departure. “If I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.”
