Tucker Carlson Labels Trump’s Iran Strikes as ‘Repugnant and Malevolent’
Tucker Carlson has condemned Donald Trump’s recent airstrikes in Iran, labeling them as “repugnant and malevolent,” according to a report from ABC News.
In a conversation with White House correspondent Jonathan Karl, Carlson, a prominent figure in Trump’s circle, shared his thoughts on the military operations that took place on Saturday. Karl noted that he had reached out to several notable Trump supporters for their perspectives on the strikes.
“I just heard back from Tucker Carlson,” Karl stated. “Carlson, who spoke at the President's 2024 convention and has been a regular visitor to the White House, was there just last week.”
“He told me the president's decision is, quote, absolutely repugnant and malevolent,” Karl added.

The Independent has sought confirmation from Carlson regarding his comments, as he has yet to publicly address the strikes in Iran, which were executed in coordination with Israeli military forces early Saturday.
Historically, Carlson has voiced strong opposition to U.S. military involvement in the Middle East and has criticized the Israeli government, characterizing escalating tensions with Iran as a “reckless” endeavor that primarily serves Tel Aviv's interests.
After a previous U.S. strike on Iran last June, Carlson expressed in his newsletter that Trump was “complicit” in Israel's actions and cautioned against further entanglement, labeling it “suicidal.”
His remarks gained traction following a viral interview with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, where he challenged Cruz’s understanding of Iran after the senator called for the overthrow of its government but struggled to answer basic questions about the country.

Carlson also faced criticism for an interview with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where detractors accused him of allowing regime propaganda to go unchallenged.
Karl emphasized that Carlson's strong reaction is noteworthy, suggesting that the military action in Iran could represent “a momentous and potentially defining, or maybe redefining, move for President Trump.”
Critics of Trump’s actions have highlighted the contradiction between his military decisions and his campaign promises centered around an “America First” policy aimed at ending prolonged conflicts like those in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The president had pledged to avoid further U.S. involvement in foreign wars, a stance that appears to clash with the recent strikes and the looming threat of escalating conflict.

Carlson has previously criticized Trump on various occasions, once describing him as “a demonic force, a destroyer.”
“I’ve been thinking about this every day for four years,” Carlson texted a Fox News producer on November 13, 2020, a message that surfaced during the high-profile defamation lawsuit involving the broadcaster and Dominion Voting Systems.
“He’s only good at destroying,” he concluded.
