U.N. Showdown: Mike Waltz Goes Nuclear on Cuba's Thug Regime

Oct 29 2026

A volcanic confrontation erupted in the United Nations General Assembly Hall as U.N. Ambassador Mike Waltz unleashed a furious tirade against Cuba’s government, branding it a regime of thugs stealing from its own people. This clash unfolded amid mounting pressure on Washington to lift its economic embargo on the beleaguered island.

Waltz stood firm at the podium, delivering a scathing indictment when Cuban delegates erupted in protest, banging their desks and shouting in opposition. Video footage captured the chaos as they approached the stage, attempting to drown out his words.

“Imagine what happens when someone asks these questions in Havana, not in a room full of ambassadors and cameras,” Waltz declared, as Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stormed forward, hurling accusations of deceit at him.

“This is America, my friend! This is the United Nations. This isn’t your communist dictatorship. You cannot silence me, and you cannot silence my colleagues!” Waltz roared back defiantly as the floor president struggled to restore order.

“This individual needs to back away from this podium. He’s not going to intimidate me in the United States of America,” Waltz continued, his voice rising. “You understand who you’re dealing with? This is America. Back up.”

Once given the floor again, Waltz brandished photographs he claimed depicted Cuban leaders flaunting multiple luxury watches, including Rolexes, while their families vacationed extravagantly in Europe and the Mediterranean. He pointed to these images as stark evidence of where the Cuban people's resources have vanished.

“It’s not just watches, colleagues; it’s also a vast real estate empire,” he asserted, revealing images of numerous properties, including a private island allegedly owned by the Castro political dynasty.

“Somehow, as the Cuban people are sitting in the dark, all of these luxury homes have power,” he questioned. “How is that? And why is that?”

Despite Waltz’s fiery rhetoric, the U.N. General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to condemn the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba for the 34th consecutive year. However, this time saw slightly more dissent than previous years, with additional countries opting to abstain from the vote.

Hours after the explosive exchange, Waltz revealed that one of the Cuban diplomats he accused of “laying hands on an American diplomat” was ordered for deportation by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Footage shared by Waltz appeared to show a man repeatedly swatting at a phone recording his speech. Waltz identified this individual as a Cuban diplomat attempting to intimidate an American diplomat.

A State Department spokesperson confirmed that one of Cuba’s diplomats was indeed asked to leave. “We have made clear to the Cuba Mission that this individual is not welcome in the United States, and as a result this individual has left,” they stated. “Members of the incompetent communist Cuban regime showed their true essence through their intimidation and oppression tactics. Those tactics will not work, nor will they be tolerated.”
