Alexis Wilkins' MAGA Anthem Sparks Brutal Backlash as Critics Pounce
Critics unleashed fury on Alexis Wilkins after a MAGA-themed song from her past resurfaced, igniting a firestorm of ridicule online.
The girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, 46, is under scrutiny following the re-emergence of her track "Country Back." In a brief clip, the 27-year-old dons an American flag shirt while crooning about nostalgia and American values.

Previously, she shared a snippet from the 2023 release on Instagram, expressing her desire for traditional country music infused with themes of liberty and freedom. She stated, "I want steel & fiddles in country music and liberty & freedom in this great country. I wrote this song to represent just that." Her post included hashtags like #iwantmycountryback and #FlashBackFriday.
Viewers reacted harshly to the clip, with one user questioning, "This is painful. What is this?" Another chimed in, mocking her appearance with, "ewww ... is that Mrs. Bug-Eyes? Stop @claytonMorris ... you are hurting people with this post!"
Comments continued to flood in as one user declared, "This is too forced and obviously not authentic. Who is going to tell them it’s absolutely cringe?" Another added, "She’s better than the average person. Definitely no sensation. Wouldn’t get past tryouts in American Idol for sure."

One critic went as far as to compare her unfavorably to Lara Trump, stating, "She’s worse than Lara Trump. Maybe they’re tied. Hard to say." Another user sarcastically suggested that her contributions to the country were exaggerated, saying, "Unless you’re interested in a $5 million defamation lawsuit, I believe the required response is, 'A patriotic country music sensation who has contributed TEN TIMES as much to the country as anyone else in her 27 years on earth.'"
A fifth user slammed the song as nonsensical, stating, "None of that makes any f------ sense. Horrible AI song... It’s The American Flag Blues."

Wilkins previously faced backlash after performing the National Anthem at President Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 Rally on June 24. Critics claimed her relationship with Kash Patel was the only reason for her high-profile appearance.
In response to the criticism, she emphasized her lifelong patriotism and what participating in the event meant to her. She shared an image from the rally on X, stating, "Since I was very little, I have loved the USA. I have worked with Veterans... advocated for small towns and the people who live in them... It was an honor to sing the anthem with the incredible President's Own Marine Band for the nation's 250th birthday."
God Bless America, the shining city on the hill - forever.
