“What a loser,” Biden blasted, targeting Trump’s disastrous handling of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and his other self-serving renovation projects during a Maryland Democratic Party gala.
Biden didn’t hold back, slamming Trump for his “vanity projects.” He called out the former president for tearing down the East Wing of the White House to make space for a ballroom, slapping his name on the Kennedy Center, and even hiring a personal pool guy to address the Reflecting Pool’s issues.
Trump’s renovations have sparked outrage, particularly due to the ongoing algae bloom and peeling paint plaguing the Reflecting Pool. His extensive renovations at the White House, including a multimillion-dollar ballroom expansion and a complete redecoration of the Oval Office, have drawn bipartisan criticism.
In December 2025, Trump’s name was briefly affixed to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts but was swiftly removed following a federal judge’s order.
Biden escalated his attack, stating that Trump’s Reflecting Pool “reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration.”
He accused Trump of unprecedented corruption, claiming, “It’s the corruption, the brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.” Biden asserted that Trump has made billions since returning to the White House.
Describing Trump’s actions as “simply stunning,” Biden emphasized that the former president exhibits no shame.
“And frankly, it’s embarrassing to the country. But Trump could care less,” Biden stated. “Making money off the presidency is one of the reasons he wants to be president.”
Biden’s remarks come as Trump has maintained a low profile since leaving office, later revealing a diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
“It’s not just his vanity projects,” Biden said.
