Bungee Jumper Plummets to Death After Safety Cord Negligence; Nurse Reveals She Was Still Alive

A 21-year-old bungee jumper plummeted 131 feet to her death after staff from Entre Cordas allegedly failed to attach her safety cord. The incident occurred on June 13, and horrifying videos of the moment have gone viral.

Nurse Rayza Dias, who was on the scene, revealed that Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas was still alive when she reached her. Dias described the treacherous conditions she faced while trying to assist the fallen jumper.

“I scraped my whole hand because there’s a steep slope down there and only one rope for us to climb down,” Dias recounted. “It was all covered in mud. I kept going down, down, we walked all the way.”

Upon reaching Maria, Dias noted that she had a weak pulse and attempted to comfort her. “I even talked to her. I have a habit of joking and saying, ‘Nobody dies on my shift.’ And I told her, ‘Duda [Eduarda], nobody dies on my shift,’” she stated, despite not being on duty at the time.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, six individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Three men present at the site—Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, and Maicon Fernandes Cintra—are facing homicide charges with implied malice.

The accused reportedly claimed they could not remember whose responsibility it was to secure the safety cord before the jump.
