As ABC and ESPN broadcasted the game, a radio crew went viral for their on-air chatter about Swift. McNutt questioned her colleague Tyler Murray, asking if that was indeed Taylor Swift in attendance. Murray speculated that someone was trying to distract him by calling out her name.

McNutt insisted that the woman with the "long ponytail" was Swift "in the blue." Murray then attempted to snap a photo, prompting McNutt to scold him for it.
