Fitness Influencer Connor Murphy Drowns After Wrecking Luxury Rental

A 32-year-old American fitness influencer, Connor Michael Murphy, drowned after reportedly trashing his luxury rental home in Thailand. Police responded to a scene at an upscale estate in Bang Phli following bizarre behavior from Murphy before he leaped into a lake.

Divers found his body approximately 20 meters from the shore after a frantic half-hour search. Initial reports indicate no signs of foul play, and authorities suspect drowning as the cause of death.

Witnesses described Murphy's erratic actions just before the incident. A security guard noted that he returned by taxi, yelling and rolling on the ground, raising his hands as if in prayer. He then sprinted into the estate and dove into a 10-meter-deep lake, swimming until he became exhausted and disappeared beneath the surface.

Onlookers refrained from entering the water due to its depth. Murphy had been in a relationship with his girlfriend for about three years, but they had only moved into the 22 million THB (£493,000) rental property together three months prior.

His girlfriend reported that this was the first time he had acted in such a manner and was baffled by the sudden change. She claimed the chaos began the night before when he allegedly splattered paint throughout their rental while she slept.

Authorities discovered two unused syringes on the driver's seat of Murphy's vehicle and several unidentified white pills in his waist bag. His girlfriend insisted she had never seen him use drugs. The property owner expressed shock upon finding paint splattered across the home, including on furniture and electrical equipment.

Murphy amassed nearly three million followers across social media platforms, where he shared content related to comedy, bodybuilding, fitness, and philosophy.
