Fox News Viewers Roast Rob Schneider for Backing Spencer Pratt as LA Mayor

May 17 2026

Rob Schneider is getting dragged on social media, and it’s not pretty. The former SNL star and current political commentator has stirred the pot by throwing his support behind Spencer Pratt for Los Angeles Mayor.

During his May 16 appearance on "Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany," Schneider, 62, didn’t hold back. He slammed the current leadership in LA, particularly Mayor Karen Bass, for ditching the city to attend a wedding in Africa just as dangerous winds were set to sweep through.

But it was his jaw-dropping remark about the wildfires that really sent Fox News viewers into a frenzy. In a passionate tirade, he declared, “I’m glad to see more people speaking about [the elections], because that’s what it’s going to take. I mean, when I see my buddy David Spade, and I see other people who will put themselves out there, because look, LA, you have nothing to lose. Half of your town is already burned down.”

After the interview aired, the backlash was swift and brutal. One furious viewer tweeted, “I used to find this demented imbecile funny. What happened to his brain? As a lifelong LA resident, I can tell you that the level of completely delusional insanity here is perhaps only surpassed by that of his cult leader. MAGA cult members live in a fantasy world.”

Another chimed in with, “That’s the thing about propaganda. It’ll rot your mind away worse than any hard drug ever could.” A third lamented, “Really saddens me to see what a complete lost cause @RobSchneider has become.”

“LA isn’t burned down, but Rob Schneider’s career burned down long ago,” quipped one more, while another Fox News viewer asked, “Who hurt you, Robby? This guy is such a loser.”

Schneider’s endorsement comes as Spencer Pratt, the former reality star from The Hills, climbs the ranks in the LA mayoral race ahead of the June 2 primary election. Pratt has surged 12 points since March and is now trailing Mayor Bass by single digits.

Despite being a registered Republican, Pratt is running as an independent candidate due to the nonpartisan nature of the election. He’s racked up endorsements from big names like Taylor Lautner, Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, Kristin Cavallari, and Paris Hilton. However, his campaign has divided Hollywood; even his sister Stephanie Pratt has publicly urged voters to steer clear of him, labeling him unqualified. Mayor Bass has accused him of exploiting wildfire victims' grief for personal gain.
