On May 12, just before jetting off to China, Trump unleashed a tirade that ended with him hurling insults at two female reporters. The 79-year-old rambled about Iran, budget issues, and even took a moment to berate a journalist who dared to challenge him.
“We had a choice. Let these lunatics have a nuclear weapon,” Trump declared, referring to Iran. But it was his interaction with the press that really set off alarms. When a female journalist pressed him on the budget for a new White House ballroom, he snapped back, “If you want to do that, then you’re a stupid person. And you happen to be! I mean, I know you very well.”
Social media erupted after the broadcast, with one viewer questioning, “Why does Trump ALWAYS call female members of the press ‘stupid’?” Another chimed in, “So rude to women all the time. Every word out of his little sphincter mouth is a fabrication.”

“I doubled the size of it, you dumb person,” he shot back, stopping just short of using an ableist slur. “You are not a smart person,” he added as he moved down the line of reporters.
