Influencer Klaudiaglam dies after being struck by car driven by rival influencer
Klaudiaglam, known off-screen as Klaudia Zakrzewska, was critically injured when a vehicle struck her outside a Soho nightclub in the early hours of April 19. Friends have taken to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to the influencer.
Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of a woman being hit by a car on Argyll Street. Witnesses described a heated confrontation between Zakrzewska and another influencer before the incident occurred. Eyewitness accounts captured the moment, with bystanders shouting warnings just moments before she was trapped beneath the vehicle.
With over 260,000 followers on Instagram, Zakrzewska was transported to a nearby hospital where she remained in critical condition. By April 20, authorities confirmed that a 29-year-old woman had been arrested on multiple charges, including attempted murder and dangerous driving. This individual, identified as Gabrielle Carrington, also known as RielleUK, is now in custody.
Tragically, Zakrzewska passed away on April 25, following her hospitalization. The initial charges against Carrington are expected to be upgraded to murder in light of Zakrzewska's death. Carrington had already faced charges related to grievous bodily harm and drunk driving.
During her court appearance on April 21, Carrington was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to the Old Bailey on May 19. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell expressed condolences to Zakrzewska’s family and friends while urging the public to refrain from sharing graphic footage of the incident online.
“We ask that people do not share graphic footage out of respect for Klaudia’s loved ones,” Foxwell stated. Despite numerous social media posts suggesting her death, official reports initially indicated she was still fighting for her life.
Reports indicate that Zakrzewska remained in life-threatening condition at the hospital following the incident. Detective Chief Inspector Foxwell reiterated that inquiries are ongoing and that many witnesses may have seen what transpired that night.
It has been confirmed that Carrington is indeed a fellow influencer. Prosecutor Rizwan Amin noted an ongoing dispute between the two parties, emphasizing that the full scope of the incident was not fully understood at the time of police arrival.
In addition to Zakrzewska's injuries, a man in his 50s sustained life-changing injuries, while a woman in her 30s suffered minor injuries during the incident.
