Jaime King Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift Friendship After Son Snubbed at Wedding

Jaime King is cutting through the noise surrounding her relationship with Taylor Swift.

Speculation ignited when her son, 10-year-old Leo Newman, was not present at Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce. The absence of the pop star's godson raised eyebrows.

King's publicist, Jane Owen, stated that Jaime chose Taylor as Leo's godmother based on a belief that this role is a profound personal commitment, detached from public appearances.

Owen clarified that Leo is still too young for a large adult wedding celebration. However, he and his mother celebrated Swift and Kelce’s marriage in a special, age-appropriate manner during his summer break.

Swift's representative did not respond to requests for comment regarding the situation.

This statement follows reports that none of Swift's five godchildren, including Leo, attended the wedding festivities with Kelce.

Sources indicated that only the daughters of Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's brother, served as flower girls during the ceremony.

In April 2025, a source revealed that King and Swift had not been in contact for an extended period. The source noted that King misses Swift and hopes for a future reconnection.

King made a deliberate choice in naming Taylor as her son’s godmother, emphasizing her desire to maintain their friendship.

The two became close after meeting at a Golden Globes party in 2014. Just a year later, King asked Swift to take on the role of godmother for Leo.

King’s ex-husband, Kyle Newman, directed Swift’s 2015 music video for “Style.”

Swift and Kelce, both 36, kicked off their wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner that matched the star-studded nature of the reception.

On Friday, over 1,000 guests attended the ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
