Jack Antonoff's 'Love' for Marriage Crumbles Just a Month After Awkward Interview

Jul 09 2026

Jack Antonoff's enthusiastic declaration of love for marriage now feels like a cruel joke, coming just a month before his split from Margaret Qualley.

When asked by anchor Craig Melvin about upcoming weddings, presumably referencing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's high-profile event, Antonoff deflected, turning the focus back to Melvin's own 15-year marriage.

Melvin pressed again, and Antonoff awkwardly replied, "Uh, I hope. Yeah, I hope so, man," before quickly shutting down further inquiries with a laugh, insisting, "I love being married, man. I'm happy you love being married too!"

Despite his claims of marital bliss, Antonoff attended Swift and Kelce's wedding without Qualley, instead accompanied by his sister, designer Rachel Antonoff. Her absence from both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about their troubled marriage.

A source disclosed that issues in Antonoff and Qualley’s marriage had been brewing long before their official split. "Jack could be very particular about how he liked things," the insider revealed. "He’d often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight."

Communication problems plagued their relationship, according to another insider.

Another source indicated that the couple is “figuring things out.”

On Wednesday, Antonoff was spotted in New York City still wearing his wedding ring while out with his sister. Dressed in a New York Knicks T-shirt, he was seen grabbing coffee and walking a dog.

The Bleachers frontman and "The Substance" actress tied the knot in August 2023 during an intimate ceremony in New Jersey.

The wedding featured several A-listers, including Swift, Zoë Kravitz, Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey, and Qualley’s mother, actress Andie MacDowell.
