JD Vance Admits He’s Clueless on Diplomatic Protocols

JD Vance, while pushing his latest book, embarrassingly reveals he doesn’t grasp the basics of diplomatic protocols.

As the Trump administration remains tight-lipped about the U.S.-Iran deal, Vance’s lack of understanding raises eyebrows. During a segment with anchor Norah O’Donnell on CBS Mornings, he was pressed on why details of the motion of understanding (MOU) set to be signed in Geneva remain under wraps.

“Why not allow the world to see whatever this deal is you signed with Iran?” O’Donnell challenged.

Vance’s response? “So, there is frankly some diplomatic protocols that I don’t fully understand.”

With no official word on the MOU’s contents, speculation runs rampant. Analysts suggest it could involve Iran policing the Strait of Hormuz and lifting sanctions.

Vance later claimed there have been “misrepresentations” regarding the deal, specifically targeting The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board for labeling the agreement a “strategic retreat.”

He insists the White House is eager to disclose the MOU’s text but blames external parties for the delay. “The Qataris and the Pakistanis, who have been helpful in mediating this agreement with the Iranians, they’ve asked us not to release the full text for a little while,” he stated.

Vance added, “It’ll come out at the latest on Friday. We’re actually trying to push them to get it out today because we want to tell the American people what’s in this deal.”

He claims it’s a fundamentally good deal for Americans, asserting it’s straightforward despite the confusion surrounding it.

“In short, what it does is it opens the Strait of Hormuz immediately,” Vance explained. “This is why you see oil prices down in the 70s from a high in the 120s; you’re seeing the Strait already open its traffic to the flow of oil and gas.”

He elaborated that if Iran complies with demands to halt terrorism funding and abandon nuclear ambitions, they could reap economic benefits, including sanctions relief.

According to Fox News, President Donald Trump signed the Iran memorandum of understanding on Wednesday during a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles. President Masoud Pezeshkian signed for Iran.
