Joe Rogan Critiques Trump’s Iran Tactics: ‘It Doesn’t Add Up’

Apr 24 2026

During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan openly scrutinized President Donald Trump’s strategy regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran, just days after their meeting in the Oval Office.

Although Rogan has publicly endorsed Trump for the 2024 presidential race, his criticisms of the administration have intensified, particularly concerning its actions in Iran.

On Thursday, while conversing with comedian James McCann, Rogan remarked that the timing of the administration's decisions in Iran “doesn’t make sense.”

“For 47 years, people have wanted to see a change in Iran’s leadership, yet no one has executed it like this administration,” Rogan stated. “But why now? Why this moment?”

He elaborated, “It made sense when they dropped that bunker buster bomb to target their nuclear capabilities. That was a clear action. But then we went back into Iran, and I’m left wondering what triggered that decision?”

This discussion followed closely on the heels of Rogan’s visit to Trump for the signing of an executive order aimed at expediting research into treatments for severe mental health issues.

Rogan further speculated on whether Israel influenced the U.S. decision to engage militarily: “But what was the motivation? If I had to guess, I’d say it was because of Israel.”

In response, Trump dismissed the notion that Israel had pressured him into the conflict. “Israel never talked me into the war with Iran; my long-standing belief that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON is what drove that decision,” he posted on Truth Social.

Rogan also raised concerns about the administration’s exit strategy from the conflict. “You have to wonder how we plan to extricate ourselves from this situation. Will we maintain troops there indefinitely? What happens if we damage their infrastructure?” he questioned.

The timeline for the war, which commenced on February 28, remains ambiguous. Trump commented on the prolonged nature of military engagements, referencing historical conflicts: “Don’t rush me... We were in Vietnam for 18 years and Iraq for many years. World War II lasted almost five years, and the Korean War spanned seven years.”

“I’ve been at this for six weeks, and their military is completely defeated,” he asserted.

Trump also noted that he could not provide a definitive answer regarding future actions due to “new leadership in Iran, and they’re fighting amongst themselves.”

The White House has been approached for further comments on these developments.
