Joe Rogan Exposes Former Podcast Guest's Gruesome Murder of a Man, Decapitating Him

Jul 23 2026

Joe Rogan dropped a bombshell, claiming a former podcast guest allegedly “cut a guy’s head off” in a horrific murder in New York City, mere weeks after being on his show.

This revelation surfaced during a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” where Rogan discussed sociopaths with physician Zach Bush, referencing his 2024 interview with accused murderer Sheldon Johnson.

“We had a guy in the studio that cut a guy’s head off after the podcast. He killed a guy and cut his head off,” Rogan stated bluntly.

Johnson, who appeared on the show alongside civil rights attorney Josh Dubin, was sitting directly across from Rogan just weeks before allegedly committing this gruesome act.

Rogan detailed the chilling events: “He does the podcast and then afterward goes and visits this guy that apparently he had a beef with, kills him, cuts his head off, puts him in a [suitcase], like puts a wig on, and tries to escape in the hallway through the cameras.”

In March 2024, Johnson was arrested after police discovered a human torso in a blue bin and a head hidden in a freezer at an apartment belonging to Colin Small, aged 44, according to NYPD reports.

Authorities were initially dispatched for a wellness check after neighbors reported gunshots and observed an unfamiliar person entering and exiting the apartment with cleaning supplies.

Surveillance footage allegedly captured Johnson exiting a sixth-floor elevator, scanning the area before heading to the apartment.

He was later seen leaving the scene around 2 a.m., carrying a blue bin, having been previously spotted with a mop and a bag of cleaning supplies.

Johnson reportedly returned to the crime scene wearing a blond wig and different clothing to evade detection.

When investigators focused on Johnson and searched his Harlem residence, they found a human arm, legs, and a head with a gunshot wound stored in the freezer.

Johnson faced multiple charges: murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and concealment of a human corpse. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

At the time of his podcast appearance, Johnson worked as a client advocate at the public defender’s office in Queens. He had been released from prison in 2019 after serving 25 years for armed robberies committed in 1999.

Johnson claimed affiliation with the Bloods gang and received a maximum sentence of 50 years for using a firearm to rob individuals who owed him drug money.

While incarcerated, he asserted he decided to “turn his life around” and earned his GED.

“I made the decision that I was going to walk away, and I didn’t care about what the consequences was,” he told Rogan. “And I said to myself, ‘I’ve been doing bad for so long. I’m going to try to do something good.'”

During his interview, Johnson discussed his personal transformation and efforts in criminal justice reform following his release from prison.
