Megyn Kelly isn’t holding back when it comes to President Donald Trump and his approach to the Iran conflict. Her blunt advice? Cut a deal with the Iranians because the “bullying” strategy has utterly failed.
On Monday’s episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Kelly didn’t mince words when asked about the potential benefits of the war dragging on through the summer. “No. This has been a disaster for the Trump administration and for our country and for the world,” she declared, making it clear that the current trajectory is unsustainable.
Kelly’s solution? “Give the Iranians the deal they want.” She pointed out their willingness to negotiate over the crucial Strait of Hormuz, calling it an “absurd place to be” in terms of geopolitical tension. “If we had just left [the Iranians] alone, we would never have this problem,” she argued, suggesting that a more diplomatic approach could ease tensions.
“Reopen that strait because it needs to happen. Let them give you a fig leaf on nuclear ambitions,” she continued, referencing the previous military actions that had already crippled Iran’s nuclear capabilities. “We know that. Our own intelligence told Trump they were nowhere near developing a bomb before we unleashed this war.”
Kelly emphasized that reopening the Strait of Hormuz should be Trump’s top priority, especially given the skyrocketing fuel prices affecting global markets. “Just take a look at the numbers,” she urged, highlighting how American and European airlines are scrambling to adjust their forecasts due to the crisis.
She insisted that Trump is aware of these economic ramifications but noted that the Iranians “won’t just bend the knee.” Kelly added, “And Trump is not used to being in this position.”
“He’s used to bullying his way out of everything. And these guys cannot be bullied. He doesn’t know what to do. He’s great at shit-talking, but he’s really not great at winding up wars that he starts by choice. That’s what we’re learning,” she concluded, leaving no doubt about her stance on the matter.
