Melania Trump once shared an apartment with Victoria Silvstedt in Paris, a fact that adds a layer of intrigue to her rise in the public eye.

Silvstedt, now 51, radiated Hollywood star power at the Cannes Film Festival, even without a film to promote. She spoke candidly about her career while overlooking the stunning Mediterranean view from the Hotel Du Cap.

Her journey to fame began when she competed in the Miss Sweden pageant in 1993, landing a spot in the Top 10 at the international competition in South Africa. This moment marked the start of her ascent in the modeling world, where she quickly signed with a top agency in Paris.

Silvstedt worked with elite fashion houses like Chanel, Christian Dior, and Valentino. Yet, her early days were not without struggle. She fondly recalls her time with Melania Trump, describing their bond as supportive and nurturing during their formative years.

“We just stuck together. We were very, very supportive of each other,” Silvstedt stated, emphasizing their close friendship during a challenging time.

She painted Melania as sweet and grounded but fiercely ambitious. “She really wanted to make it. She has that very Slavic determination,” Silvstedt noted, recalling their shared workouts to burn off calories after meals.

Silvstedt reminisced about Melania’s aspirations, saying, “I want to be like Sofia Loren... Look at her now, she does look like her.”

Despite losing touch over the years, Silvstedt described Melania’s rise to First Lady as “incredible.” She recounted a chance encounter in New York before Melania’s ascent, noting that she never anticipated such a trajectory.

During her Parisian years, Silvstedt caught the eye of Hugh Hefner, leading to her feature as Playboy's December 1996 Playmate of the Month and later as 1997 Playmate of the Year. This success brought her to the iconic Playboy Mansion.

She shared memories of her time at the mansion, where she mingled with wild animals and enjoyed a laid-back lifestyle. “My time there was super chill,” she recalled, highlighting Hefner’s gentlemanly demeanor.

Silvstedt described the atmosphere as fun and carefree, contrasting it with today’s social media-driven world. “Everyone was just enjoying themselves. It was a different time,” she said.

In 1999, she landed a role on the hit series Melrose Place as a Swedish nurse named Inga. “I loved Melrose Place. I was a very sexy nurse,” she laughed, reflecting on her early acting career.

Among her favorite collaborators is supermodel Cindy Crawford, with whom she worked on a festive film in Italy. “Cindy was a dream - she is so beautiful, so sweet,” Silvstedt remarked.
