“Why now?” Joe Rogan fired off during his latest podcast episode, dissecting President Donald Trump’s decision to unveil UFO files that supposedly reveal secrets about alien life. The Department of Defense kicked off this disclosure on Friday, but Rogan isn’t buying the timing.
On the “Joe Rogan Experience,” he sat down with Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and dove deep into the conspiracy pool, suggesting that the urgency of this release is more than just a cosmic coincidence.
“This is being cynical,” Rogan mused, “but the Iran war is a mess. The American public is furious. We need some good news, something to take our minds off the chaos.”
With at least 13 U.S. service members and over 3,000 Iranians dead due to the ongoing conflict, the stakes are high. The Strait of Hormuz is now a battleground, pushing gas prices through the roof and igniting fears of a global energy crisis.
Trump has been teasing these UFO revelations since February, and the Pentagon promised a steady drip of documents “in the interest of total transparency.” Burchett chimed in, agreeing that this could be a strategic distraction but questioned whether Trump even cares about diverting attention.
“If I were him, I’d drop it now,” Burchett said. “But I don’t think Trump is trying to pull a fast one with UFOs. He genuinely believes America deserves to know.”
The files released include a treasure trove of government documents dating back to the 1940s: moon landing images, astronaut transcripts, bizarre footage of unidentified flying objects, eyewitness accounts, and artistic renderings of what people claim to have seen in the skies.
“America wants to know,” Rogan continued, emphasizing Trump’s outsider status despite being president. “This is his last term; if anyone’s going to spill the beans, it’s now or never.”
“Leave a legacy as the guy who blew the lid off this whole thing.”
But not everyone is on board with the UFO hype train. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), once a staunch Trump supporter, has been vocal about wanting a different kind of disclosure: the truth about Trump’s connections to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“I really don’t care about the UFO files,” Greene tweeted on Friday. “I’m sick of the ‘look at the shiny object’ propaganda while they wage foreign wars and let rapists run free.”
She concluded with a sharp jab: “Unless they roll out live aliens or admit what we know this really is, I have way better things to do on this Friday.”
