Ruby Rose Hospitalized with Two Broken Ribs After Pool Mishap
Ruby Rose is in the hospital with two broken ribs after a catastrophic slip on the edge of her swimming pool.
The Australian actress, known for her role in Orange Is the New Black, was attempting to spray a section of her backyard when disaster struck. A video posted on social media shows her precariously balancing while carrying a hose along the pool's ledge.

In a split second, she lost her footing and crashed into the pool, slamming her ribs against the hard edge. Footage captured her in visible pain, clutching her ribs while submerged in water.
Despite the severity of the incident, Rose managed to inject humor into the situation, making a Monopoly reference in her post. She quipped, "RIP to my ribs, and the rest of my summer. They are broken, multiple. Straight to hospital, did not pass go or collect $200," accompanied by a laughing and crying emoji. On Threads, she lamented, "One second I'm here talking to you. The next I'm in the hospital with two broken ribs. What a bl***y Monday."

This isn't Rose's first brush with serious injury. In 2019, she was hospitalized after a stunt for her role in Batwoman, which resulted in two herniated discs in her spine.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she recounted the ordeal: "We thought that I had broken a rib or just fractured a rib and that it was, like, 6 to 12 weeks of healing. So, then I had 6 to 12 weeks of chronic pain and just sort of kept assuming that was what it was."

Rose described the experience as "really, really terrifying." The mental toll from her injury led her to check into a trauma facility for three months.
She revealed to TV Week, "The memories around it were so bad that I had to put myself into a trauma facility for three months in 2021, so I could learn how to talk about what happened without fainting. It was a horrendous injury, and I was so very alone throughout the whole experience."
