“We are in agony,” Savannah Guthrie expressed, her voice trembling as she addressed the heart-wrenching situation surrounding her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who vanished from her Tucson home nearly two months ago. In an emotional interview set to air on "Today," Savannah made a heartfelt appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
In a clip released Wednesday, Savannah spoke candidly with her former co-host Hoda Kotb, revealing the depth of her family's suffering. “It is unbearable,” she said, tears evident in her eyes. “Every night, I wake up in the dark, imagining her terror. It’s unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought.”
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31, and authorities suspect she was taken from her home. Despite ongoing investigations, no suspects have been identified. However, police have shared doorbell camera footage showing a masked individual at her residence that night.
The family has announced a staggering $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's safe return, with the FBI contributing an additional $100,000. “Someone needs to do the right thing,” Savannah urged in the interview. “I will not hide my face; she needs to come home now.”
In a statement released Sunday, the Guthrie family emphasized their belief that residents of southern Arizona may hold crucial information. They encouraged locals to review any camera footage or personal notes from the time surrounding Nancy's disappearance.
“We hope people search their memories, especially around January 31 and the early hours of February 1,” they stated. “We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom's case.”
