Sherrone Moore's Arrest Footage Unveiled

Mar 28 2026

Emotions ran high as bodycam footage from Sherrone Moore's December 2025 arrest surfaced, showing the former Michigan football coach visibly distressed.

Captured on a snowy day, the video, released on March 27, depicts Moore, 40, wiping tears from his eyes as he exits his black SUV. Police approached him in a parking lot, announcing their intent to "detain" him.

"I can’t get handcuffed," he pleaded, citing severe shoulder pain. Officers responded by using two sets of handcuffs to ease his discomfort while he continued to cry.

Once seated in the police vehicle, Moore revealed, "I just got fired," referencing his dismissal from the University of Michigan on December 10, 2025, following allegations of an "inappropriate relationship" with a staff member.

"They wanted to fire me anyways," he lamented, sniffling in the back seat. "It’s part of life, I guess," he added, reflecting on his situation.

Moore mentioned needing a therapist before an officer reassured him they were there to "help." "I don’t want to hurt myself, man. I’ve got a beautiful family, kids," he said, alluding to claims that he threatened both the staffer and himself prior to his arrest.

He shares three daughters—Shiloh, Soleo, and Sadie—with his wife Kelli, whom he married in 2015.

In another part of the footage, an officer entered Moore's vehicle to retrieve his phone after receiving permission. Moore also alerted the officers about scissors in the car to prevent any surprises during their search.

"From the beginning, this case was built on a false narrative," stated Moore’s attorney Ellen K. Michaels. "The 911 call that initiated the response was filled with false claims that shaped what followed. Once we brought all the facts to light, the charges were dismissed."

Michaels emphasized that the bodycam footage reflects an initial response based on incomplete information. "We challenged the narrative, litigated the facts, and exposed the truth," she asserted.

The footage emerged three months after Moore's termination from the University of Michigan due to allegations of inappropriate conduct with a staff member.

Following his firing, Moore allegedly broke into the staff member’s apartment and threatened her and himself. He faced charges including felony home invasion and misdemeanor stalking before being arrested in December 2025.

After posting a $25,000 bond, he was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and prohibited from contacting the staff member.

Earlier this month, Moore accepted a plea deal, entering a no-contest plea on March 6 to two new misdemeanor charges related to telecommunications misuse and trespassing.

The previous charges of felony home invasion and misdemeanor stalking were subsequently dropped.

"Today’s no-contest plea represents a critical moment of acknowledgment and accountability following a frightening incident," stated lawyers for Moore’s alleged victim Paige Shiver. They noted that this plea came shortly after reports surfaced regarding Moore's failure to report sexual assault allegations against former Michigan assistant coach LaTroy Lewis.

A sentencing hearing for Moore is set for April 14, while an ongoing investigation by a Chicago law firm into the University of Michigan athletic department continues.
