Ted Cruz Obliterated for Accidental Trump Admission in Bizarre Rant

Jul 29 2026

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) just threw shade at supposed communists, but critics are pointing out that his words could just as easily describe President Donald Trump.

In a Fox News interview, Cruz labeled New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as “comrade Mamdani,” slamming him for owning a home in Uganda, his birthplace.

Cruz stated, “But that’s always the case. Fidel Castro was a billionaire. Putin is a billionaire.” He continued, “The leaders of communist regimes are always rich. They steal and rob from those they govern.”

However, Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist, not a communist. Cruz’s rhetoric echoes Trump’s recent attacks on “communists,” a term the former president has weaponized against anyone he dislikes.

Trump isn’t just a billionaire; his wealth surged by over $2 billion since he returned to the White House last year. This includes more than $1 billion from his crypto ventures, while around 764,000 other crypto wallets faced significant losses on $TRUMP.

The Wall Street Journal editorial board even accused Trump and his family of “profiting off the presidency in ways that demean the office.”

In light of this, Cruz’s condemnation of leaders who are “always rich” and “steal and rob from those they govern” hits uncomfortably close to home for Trump.
