Theo Von Slams Trump as ‘Evil’ Over President’s Iran Strategy

Apr 22 2026

Theo Von, a prominent voice among young conservatives, has condemned Donald Trump’s aggressive rhetoric towards Iran, labeling it “evil” as the president’s military actions in the Middle East seem to alienate his core supporters.

“What American is this helping?” Von asked during a recent episode of This Past Weekend with Theo Von, referring to the ongoing conflict that has reportedly cost over $11 billion in its initial week. “What regular person benefits from this? I just don’t get it.”

“It’s f****** baffling. It’s sick. It feels like he’s been compromised by Israel, by this shadowy government over there. It’s f****** dark,” he added, expressing his dismay at the situation.

Once a supporter of Trump, Von was part of a group of right-wing influencers who played a role in the president's return to power, alongside figures like Adin Ross and Tucker Carlson. However, as the conflict escalates, support from this demographic appears to be waning.

On Easter Sunday, Trump unleashed a fiery message aimed at Iranian leaders: “Open the F*****’ Strait [of Hormuz], you crazy b*******, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!” he declared. “Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Von characterized the timing of Trump’s post as “unbelievable,” noting the stark contrast to the hopeful sentiments surrounding the holiday.

“When people are yearning for something new, celebrating rebirth and resurrection, to write that is diabolical. It’s insane,” he remarked.

His remarks reflect a growing trend among MAGA influencers distancing themselves from Trump’s policies, following similar sentiments expressed by Carlson and Rogan.

In a recent episode of his own show, Carlson voiced regret over his role in Trump’s election, stating he would be “tormented by it for a long time,” and described Operation Epic Fury as “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

“We’re implicated in this for sure,” Carlson told his brother Buckley, acknowledging the collective responsibility of those who supported Trump. “In real ways, millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now.”

Rogan has also turned critical of Trump, suggesting that the war with Iran might serve as a distraction from other pressing issues, such as the Epstein files scandal. “Look, the Epstein files come out — we go to war with Iran. It’s a good way to get people to stop talking about certain things,” he stated on The Joe Rogan Experience.

“You give them a new problem to think about,” he added, warning that Trump’s “Operation Epic Fury” could potentially escalate into World War III. Rogan also expressed concern over the president’s age and its implications for his decision-making, suggesting that he "doesn't have much to lose." Despite his criticisms, Rogan was seen with Trump at a recent executive order signing.
