Tiger Woods' Private Jet Touches Down in Switzerland Following DUI Incident and Treatment Request

Apr 04 2026

Tiger Woods' private jet landed in Switzerland on April 3, coinciding with his recent DUI arrest and subsequent request for treatment abroad.

Reports indicate uncertainty regarding Woods' presence on the aircraft. A judge approved his request to leave the United States for treatment just two days prior, on April 1.

Woods' attorney, Douglas Duncan, emphasized the golfer's "urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States," as stated in court documents.

Duncan further argued that "ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care," which could hinder Woods' recovery process.

While Woods declined a urinalysis test at the scene, he did take a breathalyzer test, which registered triple zeros, indicating no alcohol consumption. Authorities suspect drug influence rather than alcohol.

An arrest affidavit revealed Woods possessed two hydrocodone pills and exhibited signs of impairment, including lethargy, bloodshot eyes, and dilated pupils.

On March 31, Woods pleaded "not guilty" and announced his intention to seek treatment without specifying the nature of it.

"I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today," Woods stated in a message shared via X. "I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery."

He added, "I’ve committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time."

On April 2, bodycam footage from Woods' arrest surfaced, showing an officer questioning him about alcohol consumption and medications before conducting several tests.

The officer ultimately determined that Woods did not pass the tests satisfactorily. "At this time, I do believe your normal faculties are impaired and you’re under an unknown substance," the officer stated before placing Woods under arrest for DUI.
