Trump Brags About His 'Dumbocrats' Insult—Is This the Best He Can Do?

May 12 2026

Donald Trump is at it again, this time taking a victory lap over his latest insult for the Democratic Party: "Dumbocrats." On Sid Rosenberg's show, he couldn't help but pat himself on the back for the clever moniker.

In a chat with Rosenberg on Sid & Friends in the Morning, Trump declared, "I have had more calls on that — I’ve been good at names over the years... I think it’s a beauty, but you never know." The self-proclaimed master of nicknames was clearly reveling in his own creativity.

He explained the genius behind "Dumbocrats," saying, "You just change the 'E' to a 'U' and get rid of the 'B', and you have Dumbocrats," as Rosenberg chuckled along. But is this really the best he can come up with?

Trump first unleashed this gem during a White House event focused on maternal healthcare, where he also launched the Moms.gov website. While promoting support for mothers, he pivoted to take shots at his political rivals. "I don’t know how they get away with it. That’s why we call them the Dumbocrats. We have a new name. They’re Dumbocrats because they’re dumb. They’re dumb people," he ranted.

His tirade continued as he labeled Democrats "bad people," claiming, "I’m the hunter. It’s much better when you’re the hunter." He lamented their lack of support for his policies, stating, "You can say that we’re going to reduce drug prices by 80%, and we won’t get one Democrat drug." Talk about a bold claim!

While Trump may be basking in his own brilliance, social media users are rolling their eyes. One user slammed him as a "NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT," while another criticized his name-calling as a sign of immaturity: "What a child. Name calling is the weapon of the unintelligent."

But it doesn't stop there. Trump recently lashed out at a female reporter who dared to question him about a new ballroom being built by his administration. Calling her a "dumb person," he boasted, "I doubled the size of it [the ballroom],” adding, “You are not a smart person.”

With insults flying and self-praise echoing, one has to wonder: is this really what political discourse has come to? The world watches as Trump continues to play the name game, but will it resonate with voters or just leave them shaking their heads?
