Trump Launches Vicious Attack on Kindergarteners Over Their Graduation Attire

Jul 07 2026

Donald Trump viciously targeted a group of kindergarteners, slamming them for their choice of clothing during a graduation ceremony.

Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, condemned Trump for his outrageous remarks aimed at children celebrating their achievements. The incident unfolded when Trump shared a video on his Truth Social account, showcasing kids joyfully singing at a kindergarten graduation in Minnesota.

The video displayed children in caps and gowns, with some girls wearing white hijabs. Trump then posted a screenshot from an account named End Wokeness, which read, "Public school in St. Paul Minnesota. Every girl is in a hijab... in kindergarten." Public schools in the U.S. must accommodate religious attire under the First Amendment.

Walz expressed his outrage on X, stating, "The President of the United States is attacking a group of kindergarteners because of the clothes they wore to school." His comments highlighted the unsettling nature of Trump's attack on innocent children.

Sam Stein, managing editor for The Bulwark, echoed Walz's sentiments, emphasizing the disturbing reality of a sitting president targeting young students over their religious attire. "There is something deeply unsettling about the president of the United States—the most powerful person in the world—going after kindergarten schoolchildren in Minnesota because they wore hijabs," he wrote.

Independent journalist Aaron Rupar also criticized Trump, stating that he was using his platform to attack Muslim kindergarteners. This incident is not isolated; Minnesota has been a focal point for Trump's immigration policies.

In January, federal immigration officers killed two residents in Minneapolis during a crackdown. Last December, Trump faced backlash for derogatory comments about Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar and Somali immigrants during a Cabinet meeting, labeling them as "garbage" and suggesting they should "go back to where they came from."

Trump's inflammatory remarks included, “I don’t want them in our country,” and “Their country stinks, and we don’t want them in our country.”

St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter condemned Trump's comments as racist, Islamophobic, and xenophobic. He stated that such divisive rhetoric is un-American and contradicts the values the nation stands for.
