During the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on Saturday night, chaos erupted as a shooting incident unfolded, prompting the immediate evacuation of President Donald Trump and several high-ranking officials.

Secret Service agents flooded the ballroom at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where attendees, including reporters and dignitaries, scrambled for safety, some taking cover under tables. The event was swiftly halted as law enforcement began their investigation into the alarming situation.

"A man charged a security checkpoint armed with multiple weapons, and he was taken down by some very brave members of Secret Service, and they acted very quickly," Trump stated during a press conference after returning to the White House.

The suspect, who is now in custody, is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. Armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives, he may have been a guest at the hotel, according to Jeff Carroll, interim chief of police for the Metropolitan Police Department. Carroll confirmed that the suspect was not shot and that no motive has been established at this time.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that the suspect will face arraignment on Monday in federal court on two serious charges: using a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon.

Identified as Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, the suspect reportedly has no prior criminal record and had not previously come to the attention of law enforcement in Washington, D.C., according to a federal official familiar with the case.
