Trump's Controversial Climate Claims Spark Outrage
During a Turning Point USA event in Arizona, President Donald Trump delivered a contentious speech regarding climate change, asserting that the Earth is cooling, despite evidence to the contrary. This statement comes on the heels of record-breaking temperatures across the United States in March.
“You know the green new scam, one of the greatest scams in history, remember?” Trump stated. “Climate change, global warming, all of this, they actually had global warming, remember that wasn’t working because we were actually cooling as a planet. Then they had another one and another one and another one, and they were wrong, and then they just said climate change, because climate change takes care of heat, snow, whatever.”
Ironically, Trump's comments were made in Phoenix, Arizona—one of the hottest cities in the nation. This location choice seemed to overlook recent data indicating that March was the hottest March on record and marked the most anomalously warm month in 132 years of weather records.
Furthermore, data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration revealed that the period from April 2025 to March 2026 was the hottest 12-month span recorded for the continental United States.
Despite these alarming trends, the Trump administration has continued to dismantle environmental protections and reverse initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Recently, Trump's Environmental Protection Agency rescinded a scientific finding that underpinned regulations on greenhouse gas emissions.
